The August Edit With Caroline

I don’t know about you, but I’m itching for all things fall - when the days become a little shorter, there’s a subtle chill in the air, and the colors of the leaves start changing… oh those fall leaves! As we welcome the transition into a new season, I’m bringing in those easy essentials for now and later. So for the August Edit, I’m sharing my newest picks for a pre-fall wardrobe, bar keeper’s go-tos and a round up of back-in-stock favorites that won’t last for long…

When it’s not really summer, but not quite fall, I like to add transitional pieces into the mix, like the Kerstin Jacket from Isabel Marant Étoile. I’m loving the vintage-inspired houndstooth checked wool, and the puffed shoulders channel a classic British style that gives a nod to my roots. Layer it over a white tee with my favorite Parker Jeans from AGOLDE and the new Oscar Loafers from Aeyde. These timeless flats have a 1960’s-inspired silhouette in a smooth calf leather, and wear well with a variety of pieces, from trousers and skirts to dresses.

From coast to coast the weather is still pretty warm and balmy, so my current wardrobe staple is a lightweight, fall-inspired blouse, like the Bambi Blouse from Vanessa Bruno. It’s made from a cotton crepe with a loose-fitting and flowy cut and bohemian-style embroidery. I’m styling it with the relaxed, boyfriend-style Mitchell Jeans from Nili Lotan and the Catrina Slingback Pumps from Aeyde for a relaxed, yet elevated look to wear now, and later.

The cooler mornings have me reaching for a sweater, like the Amaya Sweater from Nili Lotan. It's made from medium-weight cashmere to keep you warm, but not too warm, and the boxy fit pairs well with a variety of looks. I’m styling it here with the Parker Jeans, and the ultra chic Running Sole Sneakers from Golden Goose.

And to complete all your pre-fall looks, the Return To Nature Tote from Anya Hindmarch is the perfect statement bag. Inspired by environmentalist Arizona Muse, this tote is just as practical as it’s eco-friendly. It’s made from 100% leather and free from hardware, meaning it can eventually biodegrade and nourish the Earth. A bag that gives back, I’m in!

Whether I’m pouring chilled rosé or crafting a cocktail, I like to stock my at-home bar with essentials to use year round. This beautiful Marble Wine Chiller is a staple you’ll use now and later. It’s made entirely by hand, plus marble’s insulation will protect wood surfaces from condensation. Update your wine bottle opener (or gift a friend) with this Corkscrew Gift Box, which includes a handmade vertical lever corkscrew covered in solid walnut.

I’m always looking for unique glassware, and as cooler weather approaches, this Echo Lake Whiskey Glass is perfect for a drink by the fire. A stunning statement piece for your home bar, the handmade Sterling Pond Decanter is one you’ll treasure forever. Inspired by the dew drops that freeze around Vermont’s alpine ponds, the bottom is made from smoothed-out crushed glass.

For all your celebrations, the Crystal Champagne Coupe is made from mouth blown crystal glass and looks beautiful on a variety of tabletops. And to keep your bottles chilled, the Norwich Ice Bucket is perfect for formal entertaining and everyday use. It’s handmade with a sturdy base and scrolled detailing.

It’s still gin and tonic season around here, so this Crystal Gin & Tonic Glass is a must. Made in the Czech Republic, this unique glass has a round shape at the bottom which fits perfectly in your hand. I recently collaborated with a woodworker in Upstate New York to create a line of Stone Jug Bottle Openers. The wood is made from fallen trees that have been reclaimed and repurposed. For serving drinks or to keep your bar tools in one place, the Hardwick Tray is essential. Inspired by traditional New England blacksmithing, this wooden tray features knotted handles and a blackened steel finish for a rustic, chic look.

We all have favorites, and here at eastlankaa those gems get snatched up before they hit the shelves. If we're lucky, we can snag a few more for you… so we did! The Duchess Blazer from Smythe is a bestseller for a reason. The tailored silhouette, cut out back vent and wool fabrication make it a wardrobe staple, especially for fall. Back in stock and ready for sweater weather, the Sissy Stripe Sweater from St. Roche is made from an alpaca blend with a chic puff sleeve and classic stripe.

Mary Jane Ballet flats are all the rage, and our customers are loving the Uma Flats from Aeyde. The style molds perfectly to the foot and has a chic square toe and delicate strap. Another classic for your work week, the Gaia Slim Shirt from Nili Lotan is made from a silk georgette for lightweight luxury – an elevated take on everyday style.

If you’re looking for a statement bag for the season ahead, look no further. The Leon M tote from Jérôme Dreyfuss is a favorite for its classic style, versatility and chic leopard print. Anya Hindmarch makes a collection of travel bags that always sell out, and for good reason. The Vanity Kit is perfect for a weekend away, it’s split into two compartments to store make up brushes, loose bits and skincare.

Maison Louis Marie has been my go-to perfume for years, so I was thrilled when they launched their Perfume Oil Discovery Set. It includes the brand’s five best selling fragrances in small 0.5 oz sizes that are perfect for travel. And if you’re looking to give your skin a little post-summer hydration, the award-winning Pistachio Face Mask from Irene Forte is back in stock too. It naturally replenishes the skin using pistachio, pumpkin seed and avocado oils for immediate results.

Update your home with the Pirout Vase, an instant best seller. This beautiful piece stands still and dances the room full of energy at the same time. The unique design works well in a variety of home styles and looks lovely paired with its small sister vase.

I'm embracing this transitional time between seasons - it always fuels new inspiration and creative thought for me. I hope my curated collection of favorites inspires you to embrace the lingering days of summer, as we get ready to welcome fall.

Sending lots of love,
Spotlight, Morgan Williamson
